Having tried quite a few proposed fixed on different sources I'm still left with no solution. Just go into C:Windows and make certain there isn't a 0K file called "msiexec" with no extension. If there is, delete it. Then calling "C:Windowsmsiexec" will run the exe file as intended. I corrected the ImagePath data and it worked again without a reboot! Turn off the option that makes it search all your documents, and it works a charm, that and the ability to click on items in the alt-tab window are the only 2 features of Vista that I miss.
